Our Basic students spend the first weeks focusing on fundamentals that build the foundation needed for a career in Cosmetology. In these first weeks students learn Effective Communication and Human Relations development skills needed to connect with guests and co-workers. The study of Ecology and Trichology provide the information needed to maintain a safe environment and healthy hair. Performing Manicures and Pedicures give the students their first “hands on” experience in the classroom. The study of Skin allows the students to focus on the growing interest in healthy, beautiful skin and hair removal. Changing or enhancing existing hair Color is one of the most popular services offered in the salon. Mastering the art of Sculpture is the foundation to creating all hair designs. The hair Design service is the magic of temporarily transforming the clients look from casual to elegant with the use of a variety of tools. Texture allows the students to be creative by adding long lasting volume, texture and movement to their client’s hair. The students also receive instruction on how to achieve Salon Success through time management, and organizational skills. State Law and Clinic Floor Training transition the students into the next phase of their education by preparing them to put the skills they have learned in the basic classroom to the clinic floor. The students are anxious and excited to continue perfecting their creative art. As educators we are filled with great joy and satisfaction as we witness their journey.
